Wu-ahhh..... I'm very pleased today. :P Actually, I was supposed to go out with some friends. But the laziness in me made it a stay-at-home first day of the hols. -_-"

Anyways. Why am I pleased? I got to play with Fimo for the whole day! Experimenting with mixing of different colours, trying out several styles and textures for those mini yummies I planned to make the last few weeks. :)

You can actually see some glistenings in a few places. That's super glue. I tried a different baking technique this time. Baked the cookie base till half done first, then pile on the goodies and bake till done. I saw one of the sites saying that this will help the pieces stick better. Apparently, it didn't help with some of the pieces being placed in positions just slightly touching the base. T-T Aiyah... Had to use super glue lo. Looks a bit messy ya.

The last two pieces I made, they turned out absolutely fine, with baking everything at one go. I think I'll stick to that.

The next piece, I tried a different style. I was thinking what other sweets I could make. Then I just simply make la. Who knew chin-chai also can whip up something nice? :P

Wanted to make layer cakes and petit fours. But I kind of lack the imagination of how to make such intricately detailed things. T-T

Oh, and yesterday, went swimming for the second time at Vista's swimming pool. With a couple of friends. :P I didn't know swimming at night can be such a refreshing thing. I normally swim in the hot sun, because can see more clearly in the pool ma. Yup, I still like swimming in the hot sun, especially when the sun is directly shinning into the pool. Wah.... Nice!

Then when I's home, I tried making a mushroom.

I just survived probably the toughest, most insane 2 weeks of my life. I'm glad I'm still ok dalam jiwa and raga.

I won't complain much about the exams. Because if I do, you'll probably have to stay up the whole night reading paragraphs after paragraphs of them. That's if you have the patience to. :P

All I can say is, I hope to be able to get just a pass for all subjects. No longer is there that initial determination to score an A for every subject the course has to offer. Right now, I'll be painfully relieved if I could just pass on safely to semester 5.

Words cannot describe how ridiculously the questions for the exam papers were set.

For example, for Gastrointestinal System, actually there was no need for revising any topics on anatomy and physiology, nor the many disease states of the liver and GIT. None - I repeat - NONE of the questions asked about these, and these were what, some 10 to 15 lectures out of the 20 somethings? Oh, got one question actually, and it's about cholelithiasis. T-T

I should have just imprinted the contents of 'Anti-Diarrhea Drugs' and 'Laxatives' into my brain if I wanted that A. Stupid, I tell you! ALL the questions were set word-by-word according to the lecture notes. Hence, there's actually no need for me to study so hard out of my Pharmacology textbook.

My friend was like, "The questions not fair lo. How are we supposed to 'write in detail about Loperamide' to get that 14 marks (out of 20 for one of the essays)? The lecture notes on that only got one slide what."

And may I include that even Rang, Ritter and Dale have little to say about Loperamide. They blah one short paragraph on it. I think not even close to 100 words.

I think the question-setters have a problem. "You like diarrhea and constipation so much is it?"

I can go on for the whole night. And for the whole of next day. And the next. And the next. And the next.

As for Medicinal Chemistry, it scared the hell out of me. After the paper, I couldn't shake off the premonition that I'm going to have to resit the paper. Never had I even thought about a resit so far till now. Usually, I just happily throw aside the finished subject. Now, I'm considering bringing my notes home for the holidays. T-T This is totally ruining my holiday mood - agonizing for 2 weeks before I know the results. T-T

Oh, I forgot to mention, this Medicinal Chemistry is purely memorizing work. Absolutely. You can memorise, you pass. No need to understand anything one.

Well, I've done my very best this time, and I'm satisfied with that. Maybe not for the last two papers, because the prospect of being free in a couple of days gnawed and chewed and constantly poked me in the head. I had to literally tell myself aloud that I have to do my best - if not, I'll regret.

So now, I have only about 4 weeks of holidays. It's barely enough to even get familiar with the TV back home, needless to say make all the stuff I've been planning to make.

Ah... Whatever la. At least I can do what I like now. :P

Unexpected Decision - Art for Grabs!

Phew... I was in an adrenaline-high state yesterday afternoon. I planned beforehand to finish off my later two lectures on Recombinant Drugs, and I'm so glad I managed to do so by 4 in the afternoon. That left me quite a bit of time for what I've been unconciously planning for the past whole week. >:D

I headed for the Art For Grabs event at Annexe Gallery of Central Market! It was a totally refreshing experience!

Until then, I was wondering why I've not come across Malaysians who are more interested in handmade stuff and crafting. Not the traditional batik-batik, anyaman bakul and those kind of handicrafts, although they are beautiful in their own ways. I mean something with the Etsy kind of vibe - fun funky accessories crafted from original ideas, super cool designs on t-shirts, bags and whatever attire to decorate on, weird yet attractive, one-of-a-kind handmade stuff.

Then I found a whole lot of them yesterday! Well, before this, I really can't say I've not met crafty Malaysians at all. There's quite a number of crafty girls I met online. :P But yesterday's trip opened my eyes and brought my excitement to top-notch. I'm actually seeing real life Malaysian people parading their handmade goods!

There were quite a number of stalls. I was too busy making my way through the crowd without being tripped over that I didn't really take note of some of the stalls. :P But I did get a very close look at Hugo Garden's booth, which was beside meiweihuang's. Gosh... They've quite some nice stuff! There's this puff cotton squares with screen-printed or hand-painted girl faces on them for only RM3. I didn't know why I didn't buy one, because I almost did.

Other booths I saw are musedarling's, cassettee's, and i felt love's. Others I can't quite remember their names, but their wares are damn the eye-catching one. :P I looked around for A Smack of Jellyfish - I saw Star's write-up about them with cuppacakes - but I didn't see them. Hmm.... They make super the awesome acrylic cut necklaces and brooch pins.

Well, I was in a bliss, walking around and looking at all the wonderful handmade stuff. :P While I was browsing, I saw on a several occasions at different booths, girls looking at the wares carefully, obviously very intrigued by the handmade quality. I'm excited to know that Malaysian girls are loving this!

This visit really changed my perception of Malaysians not appreciating handmade crafts. XD I visited some of the blogs of the traders, and discovered that there had been craft/design fairs and events held in KL, like those in the US! I found out about Bijou Bazaar, and Youth'08, which are past events that feature creative designers and crafters alike.

I guess there are so much more to discover!

I'm really happy that I decided to step out the house yesterday afternoon. :P Even though I've got a seriously torturing week of 8 days straight of exams to look forward to. T-T
