Hershey's Miniatures + Patchwork Pouches

I'm suddenly very into fabric pouches. The other day, I came across a local shop selling upholstery fabric - mostly for curtain materials and such. They have these bundles and bundles of scrap fabric sold at RM2 each bundle. Here's an example of what you will find in one bundle.

A hell of a steal, ain't it? What's more, each piece measures approximately 30cm x 30cm. :D So then, I decided to try and see if patchwork using these fabrics will turn out alright. Here's the first one I made, and I really love the colours.

I gave it to my mum for her to use as a purse. :) She doesn't like bulky purses or pouches, so I thought this pouch is just the right size for her needs.

And here's another pouch in hues of maroon, red and pink.

You can see that the borders where different fabrics meet are not sewn very well. That's because I'm mighty scared of the sewing machine. -_- Um..... I have to learn to sew better. T-T

Went grocery shopping with mum, dad and sis, a sort of family routine every weekend. To my utmost excitement, I found this pack of RM7.50 Hershey's Miniatures.

There are 4 different types of chocolates. Before this, I'd never seen, let alone tried, Mr. Goodbar or Krackel, though I've seen plastic replicas of them used in kitsch jewelry. After sampling Mr Goodbar, I seriously think it should have its name changed to Mr Lauyabar. The peanut bits masuk angin leh! And got stale oil taste somemore. Aiyoyo. Tsk tsk. Not good.

The others are ok. My favourite of course is the milk chocolate, though it's hard to decide between it and the dark chocolate. :)

OMG! How can you fear sewing machines, they rock! ^^ I can't believe you sewed those by hand anyway, a machine would take like 5 minutes to finish the whole thing. x)

*sends lots of mesin jahit courage to Sing Yee*

I truly fear sewing machines, especially the traditional ones, which I have at home. >.< Actually, I made these not by hand, but by that sewing machine. :) Even so, it took me quite some time to finish one pouch. -_-"

Thanks for the encouragement. I needed it. :)
